Hero Layout

I just love the pictures on this layout!!! My youngest is totally into firefighters and everything that goes with them! His favorite show right now is Fireman Sam and I am so grateful that it is on demand, or we would really have an unhappy boy!

The layout uses the awesome Superhero papers from Close to My Heart and they are perfect for my fun loving little boy! To add some dimension to my stars (which were cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge) I used an embossing stylus to create a crease from each point to the center of the star and then pinched the points. You can see the effect you get in the photo below. Such a fun and easy technique! Hope you are inspired to scrap the heros in your life!!!

Supplies used(CTMH unless mentioned):

Paper: Superhero B&Ts, Moonstruck, Sunny Yellow CS

Inks: Moonstruck

Embellishments: Embroidery Floss -White, Blue Assortment Buttons, Dimensional Elements - Banners

Other: Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, Liquid Glass

A Little Thank You

To show my appreciation, I always include something handmade in my customers' orders. It's usually a card, but sometimes I get extra creative and make tags or other small items. I like to leave the cards blank inside so they can be reused. Above is one of my recent thank you cards. I decided to feature the beautiful Pemberley papers and used the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge to create the scalloped border and butterfly. To give the buterfly some dimension, I curled the wings over a pencil and then adhered only the center to the card. Quick and simple, but I like it! :)

National Scrapbooking Month!

In case you haven't already heard, May is National Scrapbooking Month! I think it is pretty cool to have a whole month to celebrate such a fun hobby! To help celebrate, CTMH has designed the Dotty for You papers which are just beautiful. The photos just don't do it justice at all - you really have to see it in person! As a mom of three boys, I am always on the lookout for papers that are more masculine than these are at first glance, but I was so happy to find that the reverse sides of all of them are polka dots. I think they would work for just about anything, and I love them!!!

Anyway, here's the info- spend just $35 on any products in the current catalog (you can see it here), and you can purchase the Dotty for You paper pack for $5!!!! You will get 24 double sided cardstock weight sheets - two each of twelve different patterns. You can't beat that deal!!!!

You can order from my website and have your products shipped directly to you anytime, or contact me and I can help you.

Splish Splash

I am thrilled to share a layout with you using the Footloose papers from Close to My Heart! I thought the greens and blues were a perfect match for the photos of my youngest in the tub. We have the most awful yellow 70's tile and tub and I was so excited to find papers that worked!!! I used the "Magician's Choice" layout from the Magic book, and am really happy with the way it turned out.

Please forgive the poorly edited photos - I am learning and promise it will get better! :)

You can see one of my favorite elements on the pages in the photo above. The Lagoon B&T paper has a fun swirly wave pattern on it, and I chose to highlight it with some Liquid Glass which gives the paper a dimensional glossy effect. It reminds me of all the splashing that was going on in the tub that day!!!
